Mexican Tin Work Art
Z-8: Mexican vintage tin-art (tinwork art), an octagonal tinwork mirror with a single candleholder at the base, c. 1930-40. Very fine tin art and stamping. This is a beautiful and graceful piece. Condition is excellent. Size: 13 inches high, including the candleholder, by 10 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches deep (front to back, at the candleholder). Price: $145.
X-3: Mexican vintage tinwork-art, or tin-art, a very fine tinwork mirror with excellent construction and stamping, and with copper spheres as stamens in the center of flowers, c. 1940-50's.
This is one of the loveliest and best pieces of tin-art we have ever seen! Condition is excellent to mint. Size: 32 inches high by 27 1/2 inches wide. The mirror itself measures 14 inches high by 10 inches wide. Price: $550.
W-17: Mexican vintage tinwork-art, a beautifully stamped tin-work frame, c. 1950. The stamping work on this tin frame is magnificent, and features lovely cherubs and angels. Condition is excellent. Size: 15 3/4 inches high by 13 3/4 inches wide. The inside opening is 10 inches high by 8 1/16 inches wide. Price: $185.
W-12: Mexican vintage tin-art (tinwork-art) and Mexican vintage devotional and folk art, a tin-art Virgin with Child, c. 1960. The stamping on the tinwork is wonderful, and the faces of the Virgin and Child are ceramic and are beautifully painted.
Condition is excellent. Size: 16 inches tall by 7 inches wide at the Virgin's cape by 5 inches deep (front to back) at the base. Price: $375.
W-8: Mexican vintage tin-art or tinwork art, a large tin tray with copper, c. 1950. The tray itself is surrounded by punched-out bolitas or balls, with alternating tin and copper composition. The visual effect is wonderful. Condition is very good; there are some areas of tarnish in the central tin of the tray (please, see photos in the gallery). Size: 18 1/2 inches diameter by approximately 1/2 inch deep (top to bottom of tray). Price: $185.
U-2: Mexican vintage devotional art and Mexican vintage tin-work art, a wonderful nicho with a retablo of Our Lady of Guadalupe; retablo on tin c. 1920. The lovely tin-work nicho is c. 1930-40, with wonderful inverted painting decorating the frame.
Condition is excellent; some signs of age and wear on the tin of both the nicho and the retablo. Size: 9 1/4 inches wide by 16 3/4 inches high by 1 3/4 inches deep. Price: $1350.
U-5: Mexican vintage tin art, a wonderfully stamped tin-work mirror, c. 1945. The mirror swivels up and down. It is extremely beautiful and very well-done! Condition is excellent. Size: 19 1/2 inches high by 15 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches diameter at bottom of base. Price: $275.
T-4: Mexican vintage tin or tinwork art, a candlelabra with beautiful form and simple stamping, c. 1930-40. This is a truly elegant piece of vintage Mexican tinwork. Condition is excellent. Size: 8 inches wide by 8 inches high by 1 inch deep (front to back).
